Finally getting around to posting our before and after pictures of the RV remodel. Here goes!
Kitchen:
Here's the Family Shrine, and the refrigerator with chalkboard paint. The kids love doing art work on the fridge.
Bath:
Trying to show my favorite vintage hook I got, and the crown molding my hubby put in the bathroom.
Living Room:
See those beautiful glass windows above the chairs? We didn't know what to do about those. Then, we had an idea to paint them with chalkboard paint! They were covered nicely, and they're so useful. We write notes to each other, or our To Do list, or Grocery List, or meal planning on them. I love them now! My "after" picture didn't turn out for those...will have to post that later.
My Hot Contractor, working hard. Cute and happy.
Loft/Kids' Room
This is after The Hot Contractor tore it apart and rebuilt it.
Happy kids in their loft. They love it! We have their toys and books around the edges, and their bed in the middle.
Bedroom:
My kids, helping the Hot Contractor work on things.
There's no "before" for this shot, but this is our "office".
I wanted to show the crown molding my Hot Contractor put up. This is the view from laying on the bed.
Here's the outside of the RV in process. The Hot Contractor rebuilt the loft over the cab because the outside wall had come off. There were some pretty amazing things underneath that loft....like three ant colonies!
He also took off all the windows for painting and repairing the walls. He had to remove many of the inner walls as he discovered more and more dry rot as he began taking things apart. I'm just glad we discovered it, and that it's gone. Plus, with all the walls torn out, it was a good reason to do new texture and paint.
"Cheese!"
Here's us driving away. I'm driving the RV, pulling The Hot Contractor's tool trailer with The Princess in the cab of the RV. The Hot Contractor is driving his truck, hauling his flat bed trailer with my car on top, and he has Little Brother with him. We looked like something out of Beverly Hillbilly's traveling down the road.
Shameless Plug:
Now that you've seen what my talented hubby can do, may I ask that you keep him in mind for projects you or your friends might have coming up? We will be traveling the country, so we may be coming to a neighborhood (or RV campground) near you! We would love to meet people, explore new places, and be able to make some sort of income while we do it. For more about what The Hot Contractor can do, or to see pictures of past projects, you can check out his website here. Thanks, friends!
Amazing job! Your husband is so talented and your home looks cozy and sweet! If you guys come to North Carolina...PLEASE call me! We'd love to have you over!
ReplyDeleteWait! Holly...you live in NC?!? I thought you lived in AZ. Did you move? Where in NC are you?
ReplyDeleteWow, you guys did a great job!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! So cute! Cuter than my house. :) Will you be coming through Texas?
ReplyDeleteThanks, girls! Kathy....Texas is HIGH on our list to visit. Probably first on the list, so YES! We'd love to see you when we come!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!! You should just park at our place. We don't have hookups for you, but you can use our bathrooms, and we have a generator--can you use that for electricity?
ReplyDeleteLove the remodel!
ReplyDeleteHow did you turn the yellow bathroom sink and toilet into white? What it some sort of paint you used?
It was some special paint for painting appliances maybe? I'm not sure what The Hot Contractor used, but it was something like that. :)
DeleteWow! I am speechless with the great transformation that had happened. It’s much better especially with that white paint on. The white color has made your RV to look very clean, fresh, comfortable and very modern. It has now a sense of elegance and style. How’s your RV now ever since you posted this? I hope it still looks beautiful like this.

It's great, Rosalinda! In fact, we're moving back into it in a few weeks! Off for another adventure! :)
DeleteI love that you call your hubby your hot contractor :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I do love your crown moulding-- perfect touch!
Everything looks great after the renovation! I love the vintage touch you did with your bathroom! Goodluck with your adventures! ;)

Looks great!
ReplyDeleteHello! Your RV remodel looks awesome. I found your blog from googling rv remodeling on our own "new to me" rv. What did you use to paint your sink and faucets? Does it still look good after time? You and your "hot contractor" did a fav job. I am in the destruction state of the rv and looking for affordable alternatives. Would love to email you a few questions if you have the time. Thanks! Melissa
ReplyDeleteMelissa, I'm so sorry I didn't respond to this earlier! I don't know how I missed it! Yes! You can email me! I'd love to chat!
DeleteHow fun! We just bought a 1977 Holiday Rambler and I am in the process of remodeling it right now! You are lucky your hot contractor will help! Hahah! I am madly in love with the crown molding! Did it have that awful plastic strip thing along the top of your entire RV? Did you have to rip it off to put up the molding? And, if you ever come to CO I could use some help for sure!
ReplyDeleteSorry to miss this, Natalie! Not sure how that happened!
DeleteYes, we did have that awful plastic strip! The Hot Contractor put mud over it, I'm pretty sure. He mudded the entire inside (which we now regret...it's too hard, and when the RV moves, it cracks, then peels). It looked nice at first, but I wouldn't recommend it.
What did you use to paint the toilet? Working on mine this week. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteWe used appliance paint, I think. There is a certain paint that you can use that is for toilets and showers.

ReplyDeleteHi there! I know I'm commenting on a very old blog post, but I'm hoping you'll still see my question. We are just beginning an RV remodel, and I'm hoping to make good choices as I plan out my painting job. Could you please ask the Hot Contractor what type of paint he used on the toilet, sink and countertop in the bathroom? It looks like he used the same paint on the sink as he did the counter, is that right? And, now that time has passed, how has the paint held up on all of those surfaces? I would appreciate any suggestions you have for me. Thank you, Amy
ReplyDeleteHey, Amy!
DeleteHe used Appliance Paint on all those things. It did not hold up for long, especially in the sink. It started to peel after awhile. I don't know what other options there are though...he felt like that was the only/best option at the time. Hope that helps!
Thank you very much! That is a huge help :)
